New Year, New Focus

I know, I have been neglectful of late; it is over 80 days since I last posted an entry, which considering Phileas Fogg managed to go round the world in less, is on reflection, a rather poor show on my part.

However, now that the excesses of both Christmas and double bank holidays are over, and with the world gradually returning to something like normal, my new year resolution is to ensure the reason for starting this blog is maintained.

As a keen observer of the human condition, there are bound to be numerous examples of pomposity and arrogance, particularly among those who class themselves as our rulers, whether they be local councillors, government bureaucrats, MPs or season ticket holders on the Brussels gravy train.

So into 2011; and with a new government preaching localism as a cover for cost cutting, there is sure to be plenty of material even for my non-forensic intellect.
